Olamide’s research aims to develop a diagnostic assay for Buruli ulcer with a focus on sensitivity, specificity, and accessibility for onsite diagnosis in low-resource communities. Olamide is utilizing technologies such as RPA, CRISPR-Cas12a, and lateral flow detection to help address the issue of delayed diagnosis. Her research aligns with global health priorities, as Buruli ulcer is one of WHO’s neglected tropical diseases.

Career Goals: Olamide’s goal is to pursue MD. She has a dedicated focus on advocating for marginalized communities.
